Stop battling big feelings,

work with them instead!

Help your child work through their big feelings while you grow in calm, confidence, and connection.

Connect:
Being Your Child's Emotional Coach

Where Catholic homeschool moms learn how to steady yourself, understand what your child needs, and gently guide them with emotional skills they can carry into the rest of their lives

Why become your child’s Emotional Coach?

You might think:

I’m so busy, I have so much to do everyday, a bucket of kids to take care of…sitting with their emotions will take too long.

I don’t want to indulge or spoil them by giving attention to every little feeling.

And I totally get it! I used to worry about that, too!

But you already spend so much time dealing with their big feelings…just not necessarily in the healthy, consistent way you’d prefer to...

You already spend so much time putting out fires, arguing, persuading, and coercing them to just do what you’ve asked them to do…

You already spend so much time thinking about their big feeling, all while wondering how long you’ll be dealing with this and when will they grow out of these emotional outbursts?

Here’s the thing: they won’t just grow out of it.

Human beings don't just grow out of emotional dyregulation.

Instead, like you and me, they will develop coping mechanisms to deal with their big feelings if they are never taught how to handle them in a healthy way.
Which is why you may still struggle with your own big emotions,
and it’s why you feel overwhelmed by theirs.

So why not spend the time you have helping them through their big feelings, instead of wishing their natural human emotions would just go away?

The thing is, emotions are neither good or bad,
they are morally neutral.

"In and of themselves, passions (emotions) neither good nor evil. They become morally qualified (good or bad) only to the extent that they effectively engage reason and the will."
(CCC 1767)

They are a normal part of the human existence.

It's what you do with and from those emotions that helps a person grow in virtue or vice.

Which means that all emotions should be allowed,
but not all behavior needs to be.

Emotional intelligence is essential for forming and strengthening the human will, which is what you make morally right or wrong decisions with.

Which means that emotional Intelligence is the foundation for the moral behavior your want your kids to demonstrate.

If your children aren't demonstrating moral behavior, it's because they likely lack emotional maturity, emotional intelligence, and/or a morally formed and strengthened will.

And, while it will take until they are in their mid-to-late-20s for their brain to be fully developed, the foundation for the moral life begins in their childhood right now.

Regardless of when you are beginning, it's not too late to get started!

Every interaction with your child's emotions counts.

My dearest sister in Christ, growing and developing your own human emotional intelligence is one of the greatest duties we have as daughters of God.

And raising up children who have emotional intelligence is one of the greatest burdens and privileges we have as Catholic mothers.

According to Pope Saint John Paul II, in Pastores Dabo Vobis, there are Four Pillars for Priestly Formation:
  1. Human
  2. Spiritual
  3. Intellectual
  4. Pastoral

As Catholic laity we are also called to grow in these four pillars.

As homeschoolers we already work on their intellectual formation, and likely their spiritual formation.

As they grow up and discern their vocation, they will begin learning how to grow in their pastoral formation.

The one area that is sorely lacking in the way we were raised, and the way we are raising our children is helping to develop our human formation.

Human Formation is building emotional balance, self-knowledge, affective maturity, interpersonal and communication skills, and inner freedom.

Human Formation serves as the natural foundation for the other three pillars!

And it is best established through the connection your child has with you in the parent-child bond.

Which means there is no greater work we have as mothers than to help form our children as the beloved, human son or daughter that God created them to be!

And this feels super hard if you feel completely unprepared for their big emotions!

So where do you begin?

You become the steady presence your child can turn to for security when they feel like their world is falling apart.

Connect: Being Your Child’s Emotional Coach teaches you how to connect with your child deeply as you:

  • Recognize what’s happening beneath their behavior,
  • Support your child through their emotions with empathy and clear limits,
  • Use practical coaching tools to help them first co-regulate to you,
  • Then eventually support their independent self-regulation as they practice and grow in emotional maturity.
  • Have conversations that lead toward understanding and responsible choices.

The foundation of Connect is simple:

All emotions are allowed. Not all behaviors are.

Your child can feel angry, disappointed, or frustrated while learning how to express those feelings safely and respectfully.

Here’s the best news: You don’t have to be a rockstar-always-emotionally-regulated-mom first in order to help your child learn how to regulate their feelings!

You can (and should) be actively growing in your own emotional maturity while you pass on what you are learning to your kiddos!

So you will learn how to regulate yourself first, and then you will learn how to pass those skills onto your children.

When you grow in Emotional Intelligence and maturity first, then…

  • When your child gets worked up, you have a way to steady yourself before responding.
  • When they need help, you know how to listen and offer support they can receive.
  • When a boundary is crossed, you have clear words and a plan for following through.
  • When the storm passes, you know how to reconnect, repair, and learn from what happened.
And over time, you begin noticing your child using the skills you’ve practiced together: pausing, asking for help, taking space, considering another perspective, or working through a disagreement.

That growth happens through ordinary moments, repeated practice, and your willingness to keep showing up.

When they learn how to trust you with their big feelings now, they will know they can come to you with the really hard ones as they grow up.

This is what creates the foundation of the relationships you dream of having with your adult children one day!

What members are saying:

'The impact will affect generations'

“I just want to say this program and your services are worth every penny and more. I am so grateful for you. You are helping God change so much for me and my family for the better. I know the ripples of our work together will forever change things for us. Thank you for answering God's call to this work. I feel so supported by God through you. I may not feel it from my family, but the creator is holding my hand. What more could I ask for?

I know that God is guiding you and the work of your hands. I get an image of the Lord moving your hands quite literally for you, while in prayer. He is blessing it and oh my goodness the impact will affect generations.”

'It was like a flip of a switch'

“For 7 years I've been bringing yelling to confession, but the thoughtwork is so piercing that I don't yell anymore, it was like a flip of a switch. But now I’m connecting with the kids and offering hugs, even though physical affection is not my love language, but it works!”

- PILAR

'Quite simply, I love my life'

"I am learning to trust in God's plan and unite myself with His will. I am learning to rest in my littleness and trust more. I am learning to prioritize time with my husband, love him without condition, and express my gratitude for him. I am learning to honor time for myself and communicate my needs and boundaries with clarity. I am learning to love my children unconditionally. I am learning to accept them as they are and treasure this time with them by prioritizing relationships over tasks.

Quite simply, I love my life and the people in it more! Through the program, homeschooling has become a personal path of growth and learning for me alongside my children. Emily is an extraordinary guide and mentor, transforming my mindset of inadequacy, fear, and overwhelm around homeschooling to an ever-increasing confidence and peace that spills out into all areas of my life and all of my relationships."

During Connect, you will learn how to:

  • Coach yourself first: Use tried-and-true self-coaching tools to recognize the thoughts, feelings, and reactions that shape how you respond.
  • Be the solid object: Practice self-regulation tools so you can bring steadiness to an emotional storm.
  • Understand your unique child: Explore temperaments, connection needs, and the patterns that help you meet each child with greater understanding.
  • Prepare for the Storm: Establish clear behavior boundaries and practical, calm communication for before, during, and after the emotional storm.
  • Build your child’s emotional toolbox: Teach effective ways to notice feelings, calm the body, communicate needs, and explore what’s going on without stirring up more big emotions.
  • Listen with empathy and guide with confidence: With dozens of provided prompts, help your child consider solutions and make reasonable choices within your family’s limits.
  • Support growing independence: Recognize when your child is ready to move from co-regulation toward self-regulation, and support those next steps without rushing their growth.
  • Coach through sibling conflict: Protect safety, hear each child’s perspective, and teach skills for resolving disagreements (eventually without you!).
  • Repair after hard moments: Practice a provided Forgiveness Dialogue, make amends, reconnect, and allow time to recover.
  • Evaluate and prepare for next time: Notice what did and didn’t work and choose one faithful next step to continue the growth process for everyone involved.

And we invite the Lord into every step.

First and foremost, your child is a beloved son or daughter of God.

That identity remains true even when they are struggling, when they make a poor choice, and when they need correction.

Your identity as God’s beloved daughter remains true in your hard moments, too.

Throughout Connect, we bring our coaching work into the work of Catholic motherhood:

  • Growing in patience
  • Forming the will
  • Practicing charity
  • Seeking forgiveness
  • Learning to surrender what belongs to God

You’ll practice seeing the child before you with greater compassion while continuing to guide them toward virtue and responsibility.

A $1,504 value all for only $39*

*$39 is for one month of membership to Happy, Holy Mama where all of Connect is being offered.

Hi mama! I'm Emily.

I’m a certified Catholic life coach, homeschooling mother of seven, including two homeschool graduates, and founder of Happy, Holy Mama.

I know what it feels like to feel overwhelmed by your children’s emotions, and wish you knew how to respond differently.

I also know the value of learning these skills and practicing them over time.

In my own family, this work has helped us build stronger relationships, have hard conversations with greater openness, and teach our children how to work through feelings and conflict with growing independence.

Connect brings together the emotional coaching practices and coaching tools I’ve learned, and still currently use in my own family, filtered through our Catholic faith, so you can begin leading your family calmly and confidently without getting derailed by big feelings.

Connect is right for you if you want to...

  •  Respond more intentionally when your child has big feelings.
  • Hold boundaries with greater calm and follow-through with patience and confidence.
  • Understand your child with empathy, instead of staying frustrated about their behavior.
  • Give your children practical emotional skills they can have for the rest of their lives.
  • Strengthen connection while helping them grow in responsibility.
  • Bring your faith into the everyday work of emotional, human formation.
  • You can begin with the child, the relationship, and the exact life you have today.

Answers to Questions You Might Have:

How much time will this take?

I’m a busy homeschooling mama of seven and I run a full-time coaching business—I get that you are busy! Every single thing we do in Connect is intentional and designed to make immediate change to your life. The kick-off workshop will last about 90 minutes (replays are always available if you can’t make it live), the daily work to implement will take between 10-20 minutes per day that you can do with your morning prayer and coffee, afternoon break (don't worry, I’ll teach you how to get that if you don’t already), or while your kids are at football practice.

What ages will this help with?
The lessons include examples and approaches for infants and young children through teenagers. You’ll hear lots of examples of how to adapt the language, tools, and level of support to your child’s development and readiness.

What if I struggle to stay calm, myself?
That’s where we begin! The first lessons help you understand your own reactions and practice regulating yourself so that you can start supporting your child while you continue building your own skills.

What if my child has big feelings even after we’ve practiced?
Here’s the thing: because you and your child are human, you all will absolutely keep having big feelings during and after learning these tools.

Your child will continue to encounter disappointment, frustration, and hard days.
So will you.

Those emotions and experiences aren’t going anywhere,
and making them go away is not the point of Connect.

The point is to help you both feel more prepared and equipped to handle big feelings in healthy ways that bring you closer together, instead of driving you farther apart.

Ultimately, emotional skills develop through practice.
So when the big feelings come up, you’ll keep returning to the tools you learn in Connect.

How long do I have access to the program?
Connect is being offered exclusively inside the Happy, Holy Mama Membership this year. Which means you’ll have access to everything in Connect, plus the entire Happy, Holy Mama Member Portal from the minute you sign up until you decide to cancel.

What are the dates and times for the Connect workshop and coaching calls?
The self-paced course, Connect, will be released in the Happy, Holy Mama Member Portal on October 19, 2026.

The Kick-Off Workshop will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026 at 3:00pm ET / 12:00pm PT.
Followed by weekly live coaching calls that will take place on Tuesdays

ALL LIVE WORKSHOPS AND COACHING CALLS WILL COME WITH REPLAYS!

Begin with one faithful step.

In Connect, you will learn how to pause, listen, hold a limit, and help your child through the next hard moment.

You will learn how to repair when you miss the mark, and teach your child how to do the same.

As the mother and homeschool leader, you will build a family rhythm that makes room for feelings, protects connection, and supports the human formation you are called to help them develop.

And you don’t have to figure this out alone!

You will do this alongside me, your coach and my coaching team, and our stellar community filled with hundreds of faith-filled Catholic homeschoolers learning how to do this emotional work right alongside you!
